Without a doubt, the biggest and most celebrated holiday on Maui is Halloween. Each year, Lahaina Town is the host of one of the largest Halloween parties in Hawaii, often dubbed the "Mardi Gras of the Pacific". Front Street closes off all streets to traffic, allowing costumed visitors and residents the chance to walk freely down the street and enjoy the many events held throughout the evening.

In the late 19th and early 20th century Maui had a booming agricultural business and was home to one of the world’s largest sugar mills in Puunene. Lahaina and Paia also had their own sugar mills. Thousands of acres island-wide were planted with sugar cane and eventually diversified into a new, experimental crop: pineapple, which also flourished in Maui’s climate. Currently on Maui the oldest homes that regularly come up for sale are these “plantation-style” homes that date from the 1920’s to 1940’s. The plantation owners had their own sprawling

Enlisting the help of an experienced agent who understands your needs to guide you through the process will save you time and a lot of headache—and will of course get your home sold more quickly and for more money than trying to list your home on your own.

2. Consider Repairs and Improvements

Your real estate agent will do a thorough walkthrough of your home and will likely make recommendations on both minor and major repairs or improvements you should consider. Additionally, be proactive about any known maintenance issues to your home, as these will surface during an inspection.

Homes can also gain value if you make improvements such as painting your home (inside or outside),

On Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 a fire began along the side of the Haleakala Highway on the island of Maui. The fire Consumed around 2,500 acres of old sugar cane fields. It grew so quickly because of the dried out vegetation and high trade winds. The fire was put out by the work of some very brave men and women at the fire department along with the community in the form of some companies such as the owners of the land Alexander & Baldwin, Goodfellow Bros., and West Maui Land Co., all helped fight the fire by using bulldozers and water tanks to create a fire break so that the inferno did not spread further across Maui's beautiful landscape.
